Department of Health Sciences

Il Department of Health Sciences was set up in the autumn of 2011, following the Gelmini Reform, based on the experience gained with the previous Department of Medical Sciences.

The University's research activity takes place in the Departments.The Department of Health Sciences is composed of a large group of researchers with different fields of expertise ranging from basic research to the study of the pathogenetic mechanisms of complex diseases, to the development of biomaterials and innovative strategies in the diagnostic and therapeutic field.

This fosters the development, sharing and dissemination of skills essential for the study, maintenance and enhancement of people’s health.
