Initial Skills Assessment Test
Degree course Advanced course in "Functional Imaging and evaluation in cardiac diagnostics and intervention"
The assessment of basic skills takes place for all enrolled students by means of a test (Initial Skills Assessment Test). The test does not earn the student training credits and a possible negative result does not impede participation in the courses. Students who do not pass or do not take the test are assigned additional training obligations (OFA) to be completed before taking exams and in any case within the first year of the course. Gaining the remedial credits is essential in order to tackle the study path with a solid basis.
The test consists of 40 multiple choice questions (five answers, one of which is correct): 10 questions for each of the following disciplines: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
The test lasts 60 minutes (with the exemption of those who have the right to more time).
The 2022-2023 test will take part on 4 November 2022.
Scoring: 1 point per correct answer, -0.25 for the wrong answer and 0 for missed-out answers.
Students who obtain scores lower than the values indicated, in the subjects indicated below, will be assigned additional educational obligations (OFA) in these disciplines to be fulfilled in the first year of the course: 3 points in Biology, 3 points in Chemistry, 3 points in Mathematics and 3 points in Physics
All students are required to take the test. Those who hold the TOLC-B certification are exempt, as well as those who, following an entry transfer or change of course or course abbreviations, have obtained validation of credits in all four disciplines (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology).
The additional training obligations (OFA) provided for those who have not passed the test or who have not taken it include remedial courses that can be found on DIR.
RECOGNITION OF TOLC-B SCORES
- 3 points: Chemistry, Physics, Biology
- 6 points: Mathematics (there are 20 questions in TOLC-B)
Recognition of the TOLC-B is awarded only if the minimum necessary scores have been achieved in all four subjects.
Send the TOLC-B certificate with details of the subjects to: ofa.biotec@uniupo.it no later than 26 October 2022.
The TOLC-S certificate is not recognized.
The course leaders are:
- Mathematics - Prof. Maurizio Rinaldi (maurizio.rinaldi@uniupo.it)
- Chemistry - Prof. Enrico Boccaleri (enrico.boccaleri@uniupo.it)
- Physics - Prof. Daniele Panzieri (daniele.panzieri@uniupo.it)
- Biology - Prof. Diego Cotella (diego.cotella@med.uniupo.it)
The OFA courses in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology 2022-2023 will be available at the link that will be published later.
To register for the OFA sessions, it is necessary to use the Esse3 system, the same one used to register for the exams.
If the need arises for any further clarifications regarding the OFA and the initial skills test, write to: ofa.biotec@uniupo.it
